We are looking for a
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, SALES CONTROLLING
The role will support the business through a period of rapid technological development as it implements SAP S4HANA to the UK business. The role will manage risk and deliver successful transformation in both commercial systems and processes whilst at the same time supporting the current commercial finance operations. The position can be located in any of Metsä Group's locations in Finland and UK.
It will be important to be able to quickly learn about the business, its products and current processes, together with financial implications to cost models and advise appropriately to drive transparency in profitability.
A good communicator, you will deliver cross functional co-ordination and collaboration to enable successful completion of the project and transition of new systems and processes.
Key skills include strong commercial accounting capability and project management skills.
The role will report to the Project Director and will also support cover and delivery of the commercial finance team services where needed when the project allows. The successful candidate will be willing to travel internationally.
The successful applicant will be a fully qualified accountant, with management accounting experience, with a thirst for knowledge and passion and drive for continually improving the business.
A methodical thinker who is able to communicate complex matters clearly across multiskilled personnel and manage business partners and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities are:
Ambassador and change agent for the implementation of the new SAP S4HANA system in commercial finance and sales
Assess and manage system and process risk and opportunities for SAP S4HANA system implementation.
Appropriately advise, devise solutions and implement effective change in the commercial system development and influence the business to improve efficiency in processes and tools.
Lead, plan and co-ordinate cross functional information distribution, discussions and workshops
Project timetable planning and management. Deliver information, project updates, define and develop KPIs to keep the project deliverables on plan and identify risk and opportunities.
Develop an understanding of the commercial environment, cost allocation and modelling to improve transparency in margins and profitability to ensure delivery of suitable future state design, methodology and tool.
Support contract risk management where needed and understand the contract risk and pricing methodologies in place and developments required for the future.
Support development and system management of pricing methodologies and controls, implementing appropriate guidance and supporting training and control development
Support Sales and Margin budgeting and forecasting as needed.
Deliver to deadline and co-ordinate across functions to ensure project planning and timetable management
Cover delivery of management packs for the Sales and Management team or forecasting where necessary
Ensure adherence to relevant delegated levels of authority, group & local controls and any commercial statutory reporting
Challenge and critique the processes- optimise commercial process and data efficiency
Ensure all Company commercial controls are robust and compliant and embed those in the new systems where possible
Continuous improvement of systems & processes
Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
Prerequisites:
Fully qualified Accountant with management accounting experience
Experience in dealing with commercial systems and ERP developments (SAP preferred)
Project and or change management experience preferred.
Understanding of revenue recognition and costing methodologies
Experience and understanding of different pricing strategies and rebate agreements
Strong IT skills, Excel & SAP
Strong communication and presentation skills
Positive, motivated by continuous improvement and with a collaborative ‘hands on’ approach
