What would you get to do?
As a Development Manager, you lead the squad of six developers working on our Jobs marketplace, Oikotie Työpaikat. Your partner in crime is Oikotie Job’s Product Owner who prioritizes your squad’s workflow. Your focus is on facilitating the squad’s daily work in a lean and agile way.
In addition to overseeing solutions’ and product features’ planning, coordination, and delivery, you also set targets (OKRs) together with the squad and keep on improving processes and working practices. Most importantly, you ensure the well-being of your squad by clearing out obstacles, providing continuous feedback and guidance when needed. Currently, the squad reports to Jani, Oikotie’s Head of Engineering but our goal is to scale up the team. Thus, you can expect to take on the responsibility for people management in the near future.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve our practices and you are also encouraged to share new ideas if you find inefficient habits or processes.
Our tech buzzwords: AWS, GraphQL, Typescript, PHP, PostgreSQL, JWT, Docker, Terraform, Oracle.
What are we looking for?
Ability to speak both tech and business. You might have worked as a developer yourself and potentially even created consumer-facing web services. Besides mastering product (UX) and business requirements simultaneously, you also handle Lean software development and DevOps processes.
Experience in leading Lean or Agile projects.
Facilitation, scrum master, or coaching experience.
Knowledge in cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
Fluency in English since it is our company language.
