WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
Day-to-day work & projects cooking
As your playground is divided in two, there’s no day alike (cliché we know!). You ensure agile software development in Oikotie Asunnot’s Sellers & PDXC teams and your focus is on facilitating the process of the product development flow. You run the processes, improve them on the way, steer work to reach the goals while ensuring that the development work is running smoothly and that developers have all the right tools in place to help them in their daily work. You also act as a supervisor for nine developers. Thus, your most important goal is to support them on their growth journey and to make them happy at work.
About PDXC : PDX Construction is a SaaS platform where constructor companies can gather, manage and publish their listings on home seeking marketplaces such as Oikotie. PDXC is about to be modernised and you’d be the one facilitating the team of developers and designers through the modernisation project.
About Sellers : The team is polishing both private (like you or me) and pro (realtors, investors, constructors) home sellers’ experience on Oikotie. Now, for example, we’re exploring different ways of adding value to realtors & constructors. The Sellers are currently part of a bigger team but our goal is to split the team. How big will the new team be, depends on how we grow the organisation. As the plans are still cooking, you’ll have an impact on the growth and the shaping of the team.
Not everything is cotton candy clouds, so here’s the main opportunity to improve
You’ll be jumping into a moving train as we’re planning on splitting the current development team while also deepening collaboration with our colleagues in Sweden, Norway & Denmark. Even though we’ve a mature team and processes in place, and your close colleague, Development Manager Yevi, has got things rolling and there’s no need to take your firefighting equipment out the day you join us, the changing environment will come with unsolved questions, needs to build new habits and boost the team spirit. On the other hand, it brings along a great opportunity to leave your fingerprint on how the new setup is drafted! Is your curious mind asking for this kind of adventure?
During your first four months, you focus on settling in our team & the community and start taking over your role. With our help (ofc!) , we see you mapping the current stage of our development practices and detecting opportunities for development while getting to know how our cross-functional teams work. Further down the road, we’re eager to see you standing on your own (we’re here to have your back!). You’ve gained the trust of the team and know how to build their competences further to support world class product delivery. You know who to go to with specific matters which enables you to facilitate cross-team collaboration and learning. You are fluent in translating our business strategy to every day tech flow. What the future holds after that, let’s envision it together! As we’re curious minds, we hope that you can continuously help us to improve our working methods!
Juha, Head of Engineering for Oikotie Asunnot, Product Manager Edward along with our QA and a bunch of experienced developers (not forgetting the rest of our Nordic tech community) are eagerly waiting for your first day! How do we collaborate? We win it together, thus we plan and prioritise keeping goals we’ve set for ourselves in mind, discuss and decide on technical details and then focus on implementation. Everyone has autonomy while working as a part of the team, so you can count on us to receive help and we hope to be supported by you when needed. When it comes to aspects outside of our expertise, analytics, or marketing, there’re specialists available in cross-functional teams to give a helping hand.
