Developer, Design Systems

We are looking for a skilled Developer to join our Design Systems Team in Helsinki. Design Systems Team is responsible for developing OP Design System (OPDS) that offers centralized solutions for UX design and UI development for multiple platforms e.g. web, iOS and Android. You, together with the team develop and maintain design tokens, component libraries, guidelines and toolkits to make other teams work faster and easier. The products of your team implement OP’s visual brand and help to comply the accessibility requirements of digital service law. At OP we put emphasis on Agile in the whole group, including banks. Our teams utilize Scrum or Kanban based on their own needs. Agile ceremonies are followed, but common sense is used on implementation of them, according to the business function in question. That's why we hope that you enjoy working in a team and you are an active team member. Improving our practices is a task for us all.

OP is currently executing a large-scale DevOps transformation. Teams are improving solution architecture, automating CI/CD pipelines and taking in increasing amounts ownership of service operations. We embrace the 70:20:10 rule and reserve time for improving day-to-day working and learning. What we hope from you

In this Developer position, you need to have some previous work experience within front end software development and technologies. We are mainly using these:

  • React
  • ES6
  • HTML5/SASS/CSS
  • node.JS
  • AWS
  • Testing: Mocha, Enzyme, Chai, Sinon

You need familiarity with agile methods and fluent communication skills in English and Finnish (you are able to communicate work related issues in Finnish).
