Our subsidiaries include the cabin factory Piikkio Works Oy, Shipbuilding Completion Oy, the supplier of ship interior areas, and the design company ENG’nD Oy. We are constantly working more closely with our sister shipyards, and many of our employees work shorter or longer periods in Germany as well.
We are now looking for a Design Planner.
As Design Planner, you are responsible for monitoring and reporting on the various areas of ship projects and Design sub-departments.
You will carry out ship-specific and department-specific monitoring of realized hour costs and forecasts together with the project controller and create ship-specific and department-specific situation reports. The reporting will monitor the development of design, compliance with schedules, personnel resources and the acquisition and realization situation of design subcontracting.
In beginning of a ship project, your tasks include establishing basic design schedules to ERP systems together with the project organization. You will also monitor the completion and schedule of design drawings and approved with data acquired from ERP and other document management systems for basis of the D&E monthly report.
You will also assist design sub-departments in the maintenance of schedules and workloads. You carry out simulated workload studies for the needs of departments and design sector.
You will also maintain and develop common design indicators and help departments in the development, creation and maintenance of their own indicators.
To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelor's/master’s degree in technology or other area suitable for the position.
Basic knowledge of project planning and project planning systems will help you get started in your work. You will also need good cooperation and negotiation skills. Good English skills is also a requirement for this position.
Daily work consist using different IT tools (mainly Safran, SAP, MARS, JIRA and Kronodoc, Excel), so you should have good IT-skills.
