We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our team at ABB Oy, Pulp and Paper unit in Helsinki or Varkaus. You will be working in the CPM Pulp and Paper projects and after sales activities, focusing on system administration and interfaces between the CPM system and the distributed control system (DCS), quality control system (QCS), programmable logic controller (PLC) as well as devices.

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in IT or an equivalent degree
• A few years’ experience in IT projects
• Skills in the following areas:
o SQL database (mainly Oracle and PL/SQL)
o Linux, Windows VMware
o C, C++, C#
o Microsoft Office tools
o Legacy link understanding
o OPC UA, DA
• Experience of administrating Linux and VMware HA Clusters including disc systems
• Open-minded, team-playing attitude
• Readiness to travel
• Ability to quickly learn new development and working environments as well as IT tools used in CPM Pulp and Paper
• Ability to write clear documentation
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
Ideally, you have
• Understanding of the Pulp and Paper business and customer processes
• Experience of legacy interfaces
• Finnish, Swedish and German language skills.
