We are now looking for Design Engineer for Product Development to join our valve research and development team in Vantaa. This is a temporary study leave substitution for approximately two years.
As a Design Engineer, you can have a wide variety of tasks in product development projects and in product maintenance.
Product development responsibilities depend on the project phase, and can include tasks from the whole range of product creation process, including research activities, valve concept creation and refining, valve design, Product Data Management (PDM) and product launch related tasks. Product maintenance tasks include design improvements, Engineering Change management and support to other organizations.
Within the wide range of responsibilities, you have excellent possibilities to utilize your skills, develop your competences further and affect your own role in our product development.
You will work closely with your team but also with product managers and with production organization (e.g. assembly, machining).
This role requires travelling a maximum of 20% of your time.
To succeed as a Design Engineer you should have already a few years’ experience in Product Development or Engineering work. You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering and advanced skills both in 3D CAD and in Machine Design. To succeed in this role you should have previous knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD and Solidworks. You should also have knowledge mechanical design and strengths of materials.
You are able to convert ideas and concepts into feasible products and you have the necessary skills to optimize new designs and implement improvements in good cooperation with production.
You have great collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders. You have also great communication skills, and you have the will and ability to independently take things forward.
Your skills in English (written and spoken) are good, and you have at least basic skills in Finnish.
Skills or experience in simulation, PDM, manufacturing and materials and/or Engineering Change management are considered as a plus.
