Design Engineer

Kongsberg Maritime is looking for an innovative Design Engineer to join our Engineering - Waterjet Control Systems team at Kongsberg Maritime Finland Oy, Kokkola site.

You will be an important member of our team in the maintenance and development of waterjet control systems. While collaborating closely with our internal colleagues, and by interaction with projects, and suppliers as necessary, you will contribute to the continued improvement of our standardized system solution. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of waterjet control systems solutions.

This is a great opportunity for either recent graduate or Design Engineering professional to join our Waterjets, Control Systems team.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions and products as part of our engineering team

• Develop and maintain existing products

• Test and verify software design in system solutions and sea trial

• Support customer delivery projects and internal stakeholders

• Support in complex problem solving

• Support internal teams on technical matters

• Provide support for our factory on manufacturing our products

• Assisting technical support and global service network

Qualifications

• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in the field of electric, SW or automation engineering

• Experience on designing electrical and automation systems

• Experience of relevant PLC programming and systems: e.g., CODESYS

• Good communication skills, in Finnish, Swedish or English

Considered an Advantage

• Experience of communication protocols: CAN, serial, or Ethernet

• Experience of relevant engineering software/tools e.g.:

  • AutoCAD, 2D and 3D design tools (NX), Siemens TeamCenter

• Previous experience in maritime business

• Previous experience and knowledge of hydraulics design
