Demand Management Process Owner

Orion’s Corporate Strategy and Program Management function is now recruiting a Demand Management Process Owner to provide oversight to the demand planning process and lead the consolidation & management of demand plans.
Description of position
As the Demand Management Process Owner, you will provide support to Demand Planners and serve as the lead point of contact for demand planning. You provide process steering and identify improvement opportunities to enhance the accuracy of the global demand plan. In this role, you will also serve as the process advocate and will help drive organizational alignment with the global demand planning process by fostering awareness, visibility, and process discipline throughout the organization.
In partnership with business units, sales regions, and the global supply chain organization, you will identify and highlight supply risks, and collaboratively create plans to manage and mitigate demand related risks.
Responsibilities
Demand planning process ownership
Lead the monthly global demand forecast process.
Analyze actual shipment/sales versus the net required forecast plans on a consistent basis to review accuracy, identify trends and capture issues. Develop and guide corrective actions with commercial teams.
Prepare executive level summaries and present key assumptions, findings, and observations along with actionable information; interpret ambiguous data; draw conclusions and provide recommendation.
Analyze global trends, performance, variations across areas; conduct scenario planning with senior commercial leadership
Work with Demand Planners and supply chain to ensure product allocation strategies for product launch and extended stock-out situations.
Develop framework for and deliver Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) analytics to the business to provide insights and recommendations around opportunities and risks.
Support team S&OP reviews including cycle to cycle forecast variation and gaps in both the financial and volume plans.
Continuous improvement
Define, implement and continuously improve demand planning processes, as well as drive and support further development of the DP digital tools and capabilities
Coach and guide Demand Planners to enhance overall capabilities and improved demand forecast accuracy
Take ownership of the Demand Planning handbook and ensure, that it is maintained and up to date.
Identify industry best practices and propose their adoption. Channel continuous improvement ideas and help select suitable ones to turn into projects.
Identify and document which processes or activities should be automated, centralized or eliminated.
Assume ownership and continuous development of the Demand planning related reporting
The location for the role can be negotiated and you can work flexibly in a hybrid model in accordance with Orion’s relevant guidelines.
Description of unit
Corporate Strategy and Program Management function is responsible to lead, guide and support business divisions and operations with the strategic agenda, enhance portfolio management for key programs and projects, and to build and implement Orion’s business excellence roadmap with the support of Information Management. Key responsibilities are in strategic planning, risk management, program management office (PMO) and information management operations.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you have demonstrated experience in leading a geographically dispersed team delivering against priority commitments while driving process based organizational change. You are a strategic and analytical thinker and possess strong business acumen and financial understanding.
You will have the following education and professional work experience:
Concrete experience in demand planning / supply planning / financial planning / commercial planning
Experience on leading/participating/developing S&OP/ S&OE processes
Professional proficiency in English (verbal and writing)
Development mindset and high energy level
Possess dynamic communication skills
Solution oriented, able to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships in a cross-functional environment.
University degree, for example in the field of industrial management/economy
Knowledge of ERP and/or demand planning systems is a plus (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, O9,…)
