Data Specialist

We are now looking for a Data Specialist to join the Professional Services business line in the Performance Center Finland. Metso Outotec Performance Centers provide data driven digital services and remote expertise for Metso Outotec's mining processes and equipment customers.

In this role, you will define connectivity architecture and data collection solutions in collaboration with our customers and execute the connectivity deployment and commissioning. You will be also analyzing, developing and configuring KPI calculations to add value to the collected data. Monitoring the data quality and proposing improvements to our processes and ways of working is also part of the job. You will be working with data analysts, SW developers, IT, plant operations and maintenance persons from Metso Outotec and our customers.

The preferred location for this role is Tampere or Espoo, Finland. 

To succeed in this versatile role, you will need strong background in working with data in process automation. You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree preferably in Process or Automation Technology and have at least 5 years of work experience in process industry. You will also have skills in many of the following fields:

- Fieldbus and data exchange protocols, data historians, data monitoring, visualization and analytics used in process industry
- Network and IT architectures in process industry including cybersecurity
- OSIsoft PI data management system
- Problem-solving skills and high motivation to learn new things
- Ability to work in a global, cross-cultural organization and customers around the globe
- Ability to work proactively, independently and as a part of team
- Good negotiation and project management skills
- Strong English language skills, Spanish language is a benefit
