BF LAB is one of the six units within Business Finland. It is responsible for Business Finland -wide customer experience, business intelligence, marketing and communication activities as well as driving digitalization.

We can offer you extremely interesting work at our modern office space in Ruoholahti, Helsinki. You can have flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely. In addition, you have the opportunity to influence the content of the BF LAB development agenda.


BF LAB is ramping up a new development team which will be prototyping novel AI, ML–based solutions. Successful prototypes will be taken into use either internally at Business Finland to improve our customer process and customer experience or selectively also by our customers and other stakeholders.

Your tasks include

  • Participating in setting up and developing a development environment for the team
  • Planning and implementing various ML, AI and database-based prototype and pilot projects
  • Collaboration with external development partners where such are used
  • Keeping up-to-date with latest technologies and solutions in the ML/AI and big data areas

In order to be successful, you have experience in statistical analytical programming languages and libraries such as Python (e.g. pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) or R (e.g. dplyr, purrr, shiny). You should also have experience with a source control and dependency management environment such as Git and experience with using relational databases. You have knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and their designs, capabilities, and the limitations of statistical analysis techniques. You are able to build complex ETL pipelines to clean and fuse data together. You have good communication, data visualization and presentation skills.

The position is located in Helsinki.
