Hey Data Architect interested in building an AI & ML foundation for Oikotie & Tori!
We are looking for you to join our Data Service squad at Schibsted Finland! Our company is the home of the leading marketplace brands Tori, Oikotie and Rakentaja and here are 180 talented professionals welcoming you on board! We are driven by the ambition to stay as the trusted place to go for job, home and second hand products seekers. We are actively renewing our sites and creating new features to help our monthly millions of visitors to find what they are looking for. Thus, we are looking to hire a data expert to steer us towards a strong, data-driven organisation. Could that be you?
What would you get to do?
We are on an exciting journey towards AI & ML and your focus as a Data Architect is to take our data capabilities to the next level! You design and implement the whole data lifecycle infrastructure (tracking & collecting, aggregating, processing, serving quality data) and secure a high-level of data privacy and security throughout our services.
Besides identifying shortcomings in our data lifecycle, you keep a sharp eye on our business verticals (Tori: Generalist & Motors, Oikotie: Jobs & Real-Estate) data needs and develop new features to serve the business the best way possible.
As a Data Architect, you are our most senior data expert in Finland and you collaborate tightly with our local Data Engineers along with Data colleagues in the Nordics. In addition to the hands-on work, you facilitate the work of your local colleagues and prioritise the squad’s backlog. You and the Data Squad report to Simon, our Head of Engineering (Infra, Data & IT) but your role as a facilitator will grow when the squad scales up in the near future.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve our practices and you are also encouraged to share new ideas if you find inefficient habits or processes.
Some technologies we are working with: AWS (Glue, Lambda), Snowflake, Redshift, Python, Scala, Matillion ETL, Tableau, SQL databases, Kafka, Kinesis, Google Analytics, Github, Travis.
What are we looking for?
Background in designing data solutions. You are not a first timer in defining and executing a data vision and data buzzwords like Snowflake, Spark and ETL have already crossed your path. You are perhaps a software engineer from the beginning mastering Python/Scala and the basics of SQL.
Experience in leading Agile projects. You are able to collect information from various stakeholders and to prioritise their needs on Data Squad’s backlog.
Knowledge in cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
Knowledge in CD and DevOps processes.
Fluency in English since it is our company language.
Phenomenal communication skills are a key to your project’s success.
As a person, you are a curious self-starter who is not afraid of working in the middle of changes. You enjoy networking and winning it together as a team. Here is a motivated, development oriented bunch of positive thinkers waiting for you, we hope you find our way of thinking as inspiring as we do!
