Role? Data Analyst collaborating tightly with our business and diving deep into our data in order to discover trends & business opportunities, evaluate what works and make actionable recommendations to improve the business and the product.
You? Background in data analytics, SQL & relational databases along with AWS and analytics tools. Ability to work both in Finnish and English.

Location? Office located right in the centre of Pori. Our future is hybrid so you can be based anywhere in Finland! We meet at least once a month at the office to crack a joke or two.

Responsibilities
As a member of the Rakentaja tech team, your main focus is on diving deep into our user, campaign & marketing data and supporting the business by building data pipelines and providing insights and recommendations based on the data. The needs for data come straight from our customers, business and marketing. Thus, you partner up with our product, business and tech people to identify the data needs. Based on them, you discover trends & business opportunities, evaluate what works and make actionable recommendations to improve the business and the product. You also collect key figures for customers on how their campaigns have performed, make suggestions for further actions along with designing and evaluating experiments. You’re also very welcome to join customer meetings if you like! The Rakentaja marketplace has 1M visits monthly, our newsletter has 240 000 subscribers and we've been collecting data for the past 20 years. Thus, there’s a quite decent amount of data to play around with! Are you interested in making sense out of it?
Tech stack
You hop on a moving train since we are currently transitioning our legacy stack to a more modern one. Some of the key technologies in use are Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Next.js, TypeScript and serverless environments in the AWS with CI/CD pipelines. Learnings are guaranteed, as this is a pivotal moment for the Rakentaja tech organisation. Opportunities to make a difference and to influence the future of Rakentaja are numerous and frequent.
Not everything is sweet, so here is the main opportunity for improvement
As we are in the middle of developing a modern tech system, the legacy is not fully left behind yet (the current ratio between the old and the new is about 30/70). Thus, we are challenged to allocate and prioritise our resources between the two systems. Modernising the legacy at the scale we’re doing it, is not the easiest task to do and challenges and heavy hands-on work are guaranteed. Are you up for a challenge?
Goals
During your first six months, we expect you to get on board, settle in the team and start building an understanding on our business and on how data is sorted out in our legacy system. This preps you to take the modern one in use later this year. Further down the road, we are eager to see you building data collection systems, automated dashboards and pulling out reports on our modernised system. We also encourage you to not be content with just finishing backlog tasks but also contributing to build our vision, strategy and working methods.

We are agile (really!), work in a startup style environment and our work is paced by sprints and collaboratively set OKRs (Objectives - Key Results). You also get to collaborate with other Schibsted talents in Finland and at the Nordic level on different cross-functional projects. Schibsted’s data squad in Finland is also there to support you and exchange ideas with.
