We are looking for a coordinator who is a motivated and enthusiastic team player, who gets inspired about how digitalization promotes research, education, services, business development and decision making, and believes in making a difference through establishing a dialogue with the society at large. The responsibilities include EU and national policy work: policy monitoring and analysis, targeted communications and advisory tasks for influencing and impact, drafting statements and position papers, networking and other influencing activities. Special current focus areas include the post analysis and activities of the parliamentary and European elections, follow-up on the new government and its program, Finland’s EU presidency and legislative initiatives that are relevant in CSC’s field.

The position is temporary until 30.4.2020.

You are familiar with political processes both at national and EU level, with the Finnish research and higher education system, as well as national and European research funding instruments. You have good knowledge about policy developments in the context of research, education, digitalisation and data economy. Knowledge of policy developments in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, research infrastructures, open science and copyright is regarded as an asset. You have several years of relevant working experience, e.g in EU institutions, politics, lobbying, NGOs or state administration. You also have fluent English and Finnish (oral and especially written) skills, you are capable of holistic and comprehensive thinking, and your analytical and communication skills are excellent. Your background is from a suitable field, such as social sciences. Experience of relevant voluntary positions and activities is regarded as an asset.
