Alkuperäinen julkaisupäivä 3.5.2019
The EAIE is the European centre for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalisation of higher education. We are a non-profit, member-led organisation serving individuals actively involved in the internationalisation of their institutions. Each year, the EAIE visits a city in Europe and organises its Annual Conference for 5000+ professionals interested in international higher education. In 2019, the 31st Annual EAIE conference and exhibition is coming to Helsinki.
Job description
To ensure that our 5000+ international participants enjoy the best conference experience possible in Helsinki, the EAIE is looking for a number of on-site Coordinators who can monitor and lead our student volunteers and assist our participants with questions pertaining to the WI-FI and the conference app. Coordinators will ensure the students are all present and in position, providing support to students and answering questions, coordinating lunch breaks to ensure adequate staff coverage, and so forth.
Coordinators will be required on Sunday, 22 September to Friday, 27 September, 2019 for our week-long event. The working hours will be approximately 07:30–18:00. On Friday, the conference ends at 15:00.

A good fit for this role would be a person who:

  • possesses strong English skills, is not afraid to approach people and has a candid and direct communication style – but remains friendly and customerservice oriented at all times. This person needs to be able to give clear instructions, directions, and answers.
  • enjoys a multicultural environment, and whose demeanour and manner take into consideration sensitivity towards other cultures.
  • Has prior experience in an event environment. Is capable of monitoring a staff of up to 20 people and prioritising the needs of attendees during busy, high pressure periods. If there is prior experience with Messukeskus as a conference venue, this is considered beneficial.
