We are looking for a

Commercial Development Manager, MSW Initiative

to join our New Business team in Espoo, Finland.

Your part in Neste journey

As a Commercial Development Manager, MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) Initiative, you will drive commercial development in the selected MSW projects to create new business opportunities beyond Neste’s existing businesses in our journey to become a global leader in renewable and circular solutions.

In your role, you will

  • Lead commercial development in MSW projects to create new business
  • Develop partnerships with MSW-related raw material and technology companies and other organizations
  • Co-develop business opportunities with partners targeting to convert waste to valuable products
  • Lead economic calculations and analyses related to the selected initiatives
  • Lead and participate in various projects from evaluations to business development with selected partners

New Business unit commercialize technology and business initiatives to create profitable and sustainable new business. You will collaborate with several external parties and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with your colleagues in project teams aiming at opportunity identification, maturation and commercialization. The position is new within the Neste Innovation function and requires entrepreneurial and pro-active mindset.

Keys to success in this role

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is 

  • Master’s degree from a relevant field, e.g. engineering or business
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience in waste market or similar
  • Understanding of waste valorization
  • Knowhow in waste management (waste streams, collection, economics etc.)
  • Understanding of waste legislation
  • Solid experience in project management
  • Resilience to succeed in complex projects
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluent English language skills, other languages an advantage
  • Curiosity towards new ideas and opportunities and a team player attitude
  • Willingness to travel

The recruitment process includes interviews and aptitude testing. The first interviews are preliminary scheduled to take place on weeks 38 and 39.
