Commercial Development Manager, Algae Initiative

to join our New Business team in Espoo, Finland.

As a Commercial Development Manager, Algae Initiative, you will drive commercial development in the selected Algae projects to create new business opportunities beyond Neste’s existing businesses in our journey to become a global leader in renewable and circular solutions.

In your role, you will

  • Lead commercial development in Algae projects to create new business in the field of protein applications especially in food and feed industries
  • Develop partnerships with Algae-related value chain 
  • Lead projects to mature opportunities to new business initiatives
  • Co-develop business opportunities with external partners 
  • Develop business models and value propositions for new business opportunities
  • Lead economic calculations and analyses related to opportunities and initiatives
  • Lead and participate in various projects from evaluations to business development with selected partners 

New Business unit commercialize technology and business initiatives to create profitable and sustainable new business for Neste. You will collaborate with several external parties and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with your colleagues in project teams aiming at opportunity identification, maturation and commercialization. The position is new within the Neste Innovation function and requires entrepreneurial and pro-active mindset.

Keys to success in this role

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is 

  • Master’s degree from a relevant field, e.g. business, economics or engineering
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience in protein related business
  • Knowledge of protein value chains in food and /or feed industry 
  • International business, preferably from business development or technical sales or similar
  • Proven track record in successful business partnership development
  • Strong experience in project management
  • Resilience to succeed in complex projects
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluent English language skills, other languages an advantage
  • Curiosity towards new ideas and opportunities
  • Team player attitude
  • Willingness to travel

The recruitment process includes interviews and aptitude testing. The first interviews are preliminary scheduled to take place on weeks 40 and 41.

The person selected for the position must pass a health examination including a drug test. A security clearance is obtained for the persons with their consent.
