We are now looking for Co-creation and Innovation Support Manager for coordination of Business Finland and Academy of Finland funded grants to join our team
As a Co-creation and Innovation Support Manager, you are responsible for supporting our business and research to achieve set targets for Business Finland portfolio funding in our Sustainable Products and Materials business area. You play a key role in coordination of the big picture of Business Finland project preparations at the business area level and regarding project preparation act as a key contact point towards the financer.
Through your work within this business area, you will support fostering structural change in the process and manufacturing industry enhancing circularity, safety and sustainability of materials, products, processes and value chains. Our proposal portfolio includes areas such as industrial biotechnology and synthetic biology, sustainable food system and food solutions, industrial chemistry, circular economy, high impact renewable materials and biomaterial processing, knowledge-driven design and sustainable manufacturing, robotics and cognitive production industry.
By sparring and guiding project managers and teams in their funding application process and proposals and by activating and facilitating company and collaborator networks, you are in a key position to ensure a healthy and high-quality proposal pipeline and creation of new Business Finland funded projects that co-create together with companies and other partners solutions to demanding challenges of business and the society. Furthermore, you are expected to coordinate the support process for the Academy of Finland annual open calls.
With us, you will be part of a Business Area specific Business Development team and the VTT-wide virtual team for Business Finland proposals.Your location can be Espoo, Tampere, Jyväskylä or Oulu.

Your responsibilities as a Co-creation and Innovation Support Manager
Initially, Business Finland co-innovation path support activities by
Active networking and co-operation building between companies, VTT and Business Finland
Company contacting, negotiations and information sharing
Facilitating collaboration in the consortia
Following Business Finland funding rules and gathering silent knowledge
Sharing best practices and giving personal guidance to the project preparation teams
Supporting the planning of commercialization actions in projects
Supporting the companies in the Business Finland application process
Influencing relevant stakeholders
In addition, you are expected to coordinate the internal support process in the Business Area for the Academy of Finland annual open calls.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a person who is highly interested in promoting research activities together with the industry towards new inventions, businesses and cleaner planet.
You have experience in research projects and their preparations, including setting up project consortia and leading funding applications. We value experience in Business Finland, Academy of Finland and/or EU funded projects and project preparations.
You have gained experience in industrial or research fields relevant to the Business Area
You are able to identify growth opportunities and build collaboration with different stakeholders.
You have gathered experience in business support or you have an interest in such a role.
You have excellent presentation and communication skills in English. Finnish skills are also preferred as many of our partners are Finnish.
You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in a relevant field.
