CSC is looking for new talent to help grow and strengthen our cloud architect and technical customer support team.
You would be working in a team whose responsibilities are supporting our users with their cloud needs. Our user base is wide, but it largely focuses on scientific research, education and public services. The team is also involved in many international collaborations where new technologies for science and education are taken in use. CSC runs a wide selection of modern cloud services, including OpenStack IaaS, OKD/Kubernetes PaaS and object storage, and the set of services are growing. Our cloud solution team sits between the customer and the technical platform.
You will be working as a part of a team, which has wide ranging responsibilities, and a lot of control over the work. The team's tasks include developing technical prototypes, help customers with architecture planning, problem solving, running training courses, developing customer processes and creating documentation. The team works closely with the platform teams providing the cloud services.
We're looking for a technical person who has good communications skills. A decent experience in using Linux operating systems is required, as all our services and integrations are built on top of that. Some examples of other things we're looking for are skills in general cloud services, specifically e.g. OpenStack, Kubernetes and S3. You should know programming to some level, we use a lot of Python. We also use a lot of tools like git, Ansible. If you have played around with CI/CD pipelines or Terraform, that's good. We don't expect you to know everything, but you will have a team around you to support you and help you to fill your gaps.
You will be working a lot with customers and end users of the service, which is why we're looking for communication skills, and an ability to understand the customers' challenges and how to best help them. We are also expanding what capabilities and services we provide, and the ability to define and implement these is valuable.
We can guarantee that you will learn a lot, and build yourself a modern toolkit of useful skills, while working with a great team in a unique and interesting environment.
