Chief Engineer, Tail Threading and High Pressure units

Are you the new Chief Engineer we are looking for in our Board & Paper Mills Technology Unit? In this role, you are responsible of Tail Threading and/or High Pressure units projects as a whole and you answer for reaching the projects targets. You have a key role in participating in machines installation, functional testing and commissioning. You will also get the chance to participate machine lay-out and detail engineering, leading and guidance of subcontractors, preparation of procurement and documentation. Final job description can be shaped based on your background and experience.

Your home location is either our office in Jyväskylä or Järvenpää.


You have bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and preferably couple of years of work experience in engineering. We also take into consideration recently graduated for this position if you have strong motivation and willingness to grow and develop with Valmet! You are familiar with 3D engineering software (the basic designing programs) like Catia V5/V6. You master dimensioning of the structures and you are familiar with different production techniques.

To be successful in this position you should be systematic, self-driven and motivated by achieving targets. You are willing and capable to lead and organize also others' work. We gain our results by working seamlessly together and that’s why you need to have good collaboration skills and ability to create engagement in others.

We expect that you have willingness and ability to travel on an international basis (approx. 40-100 days a year). Valmet's official language is English, but Finnish and other language skills are beneficial.
