Logistics is a proactive partner to Neste businesses providing them with global transportation and storage solutions for feedstock and refined products in safe, sustainable, and cost-efficient manner. Logistics drives logistics portfolio planning and development, and has accountability for logistics related sourcing and supplier management as well as utilization of portfolio of logistics assets. Driven by customer delivery performance Logistics is in charge of chartering activities and fleet operations, and management of global land logistics with regional operations in North America, South East Asia, and North and Central Europe. We are a global team of shipping, terminal, and land transportation professionals with high spirit and motivation managing more than 30 million tons of cargoes carried by sea annually and some 2.1 million cubic meters of tank storage capacity in around 35 locations.
Your task as Chartering Manager is to take care of chartering cargoes for Neste’s account as well as cargoes for outside accounts to be carried on vessels operated by Neste. This includes negotiations with shipowners, tonnage operators and brokers to conclude charter parties for the vessels covering Neste’s transportation requirements and optimizing on cargoes to obtain the most cost-effective transportation solutions for Neste’s various business units. As chartering manager you will liaise closely with our own fleet operations team, internal traders, supply chain management, outside customers, and other stakeholders.
Keys to success in this role
We expect that you are an experienced negotiator, self confident and able to form your own market view on basis of market reports, other relevant information, and day-to-day trading. You must be able to work independently, but you also need to be a team player with good cooperation and interaction skills to actively create and maintain stakeholder contacts, both internally and externally as well as contribute to and support your colleagues.
We expect from you:
- Applicable education (e.g. maritime, commercial)
- Experience of commercial shipping
- Experience of tankers and tanker trade, either at sea or ashore is advantage
- Knowledge of petroleum products logistics and carriage of oil at sea
- Customer service experience
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, other languages being a benefit
