In our new Electric Vehicle Systems business Line we develop and manufacture battery systems from 48V up to High Voltage for automotive and industrial applications. Valmet Automotive covers the full range from contract manufacturing to a TIER1 system supplier.
Here’s where you’ll make an impact:
In this position you will perform mechanical simulations in product development projects. These simulations focus on impact, fatigue and vibration simulations in EV and industrial battery applications. During projects you will co-operate and communicate closely with internal and external customers to report simulation results with your own proposals. You will also co-operate with testing in order to acquire input data for simulations and to validate simulation results and models. As a CAE Engineer you will report to Technical Project Manager, Lead Mechanical Engineer, Simulation managers and leads.
In the field of simulation your responsibility is to actively follow trends and propose internal development directions. You develop simulation methods and best practices according to approved plan. You will also take these simulation and optimization methods into use after proper evaluation.
We hope that:
- You have at least 3-year FEA/FEM experience in linear and non-linear analysis.
- You are familiar with structural mechanics as well as modelling materials and joints in simulation.
- You master at least one major FEA software like OptiStruct, RADIOSS, Nastran, ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, ANSYS or PAM-Crash.
- Preferably you have some experience from ANSA or HyperMesh preprocessing tools.
- You understand the product development process and have experience of creating a concept and developing it ready for series production.
- Any battery or automotive experience is beneficial.
You are able to share your technical expertise and knowledge with others and to create new solutions by innovative thinking. Good co-operative skills and can-do attitude with leadership potential will help you to succeed in future tasks. Since we are a multicultural company, we expect you the be fluent in English. Finnish and German skills are an asset.
