We are looking for a

Business Controller

to join Metsä Greaseproof Papers in Espoo.

Your role in the future Metsä?

Metsä Tissue`s business unit Greaseproof Papers is a globally acting and leading producer of greaseproof papers for food contact. We offer sustainable paper based solutions for bakeries, kitchen and industrial food processors. Our aim is to widen our prosperous existing portfolio with innovative and environmentally friendly products.

As a Business Controller, you have the overall responsibility for Greaseproof Papers’ controlling function and you are part of the business unit’s management team. You have a key role in supporting and challenging the business unit and its leaders in forward-looking business decision making by producing various cost and profitability analysis and different financial information. You will manage and develop strategic development plans, budgets and estimates, ensuring that they are timely and reliable as well as have a key role in e.g. investment analysis. Driving cost awareness and improvement, analyzing product costing, customer pricing and profitability as well as proactively highlighting issues, opportunities and risks related to them are part of your job.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercial, financial and business input to decision making and evaluating business development opportunities

  • Analyzing all the P&L and balance sheet items and identifying profitability optimization potential in collaboration with the business unit’s management team

  • Supervisory role to the GPP mill controller

  • Ensuring that cost and process control measures are in place and utilized effectively

  • Ensuring the compliance with Group policies and guidelines

  • Training business unit’s management and users to efficiently use reporting tools and developing the reporting

  • Contributing to finance development projects

  • Member and secretary of the business unit management team

You report to SVP Greaseproof Papers and your location is Espoo, Finland.

What are we looking for?

You are highly data oriented, proactive, analytical, flexible and able to work under pressure keeping the deadlines.

In addition you need to have

  • MSc degree in business administration, finance or similar

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in business controlling

  • Knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools

  • Strong knowledge of SAP (R/3 and/or HANA), SAP Business Warehouse and Microsoft PowerBI

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Finnish and German are considered an asset

  • Readiness to travel regularly
