How will you make an impact?
In the role as Business Controller you will be playing an active part in being a finance business partner. You will have global role and responsibility and a unique chance to see the whole business from R&D to production together with the global supply chain. Analyzers and Automation (A&A) business is the biggest business at the Vantaa site

What will you do?
You will work as a Business Controller for the Analyzers and Automation business unit, which contains both clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analyzers and laboratory automation solutions.  Reporting to the VP Finance in Clinical Diagnostics Division in US this finance leader is responsible for supporting the A&A business segment globally. You will also have a business analyst in your own team based in Vantaa and several other finance colleagues on site.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic/financial planning activity. Maintain accurate forecasting of the business performance throughout the year. Develop and execute appropriate contingency plans as needed.
  • Responsible for developing and driving the results for the Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) reporting.
  • Partner with the global business leads to drive top line growth in A&A.
  • Provide financial support to the business team and provide evaluation of opportunities and initiatives to deliver profitable growth.
  • Support in the development and preparation of the 5 year strategic plan, annual budget, monthly forecasts, and monthly results analysis.
  • Champion Practical Process Improvements across the business.  Partner with functional leads to identify high impact projects, and to validate and accurately measure project savings.
  • Drive working capital reduction. Closely working with operations team to develop and execute sustained inventory reduction.

How will you get here?

  • Several years of Finance business partner/controller experience with the ability to make suggestions and drive results
  • The successful candidate also has very good overall business skills; you don’t limit the scope of responsibilities to accounting, but help to develop solutions to broad business issues
  • Experience in a global manufacturing organization, experience in product cost methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impact
  • Actively drive productivity and a continuous improvement culture
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Willingness to dig into details and analyze variances and trends
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, Hyperion Financial Management and SAP
  • Good spoken and written communication skills in English and Finnish
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a complex matrix structure
  • Travelling needed approximately 1-2 a year to US and Europe.


  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or several years of work experience in management accounting
