Your role

We are strengthening our analysis team of Fortum Consumer Solutions with a Business Analyst, with the responsibility of commercial analysis and data driven business development.

The newly established position will secure a data driven and customer centric way of working in the B2B business within Fortum Finland brand. The role will be part of a global team of four people, and report to Customer Centricity and Analysis Manager Enterprise.

The position will be based in Espoo, but expect to travel and cooperate with stakeholders in our other business units in the Nordics.

Responsibility areas

As a business analyst you will support the Enterprise business management team and the business unit to make informed, data driven decisions, helping the business area attract and serve our B2B customers in a better and smarter way. You will be responsible for creating insights and business value from data through close collaboration with other business areas in Fortum, as well as working closely together with the data management team to ensure data quality and availability. You will build insight on the customer base to identify and propose the next best action and continuously improve operation and processes by following up findings and explore data.

At Fortum we work in cross functional teams to develop our services through Lean Startup methodology. In these teams you will have an active role which also includes communication of analysis results and findings for decision making in a precise and easy-to-understand manner for management and for other relevant decision makers. In addition, you participate and lead other relevant strategic and operational projects and tasks within the enterprise business area.

Your qualifications


• University degree, preferably in technology or economics, with emphasis on quantitative subjects

Relevant experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience from the consulting industry or similar roles, with commercial analysis, segmentation and / or modeling

• Experience with innovation and business development with the use of the Lean Startup methodology

• Experience with programming languages R, Python or SQL and visualization tools like Power BI or QlikSense is an advantage, but not a requirement

• Good written and verbal ability in English. Finnish language skills are considered an asset

Personal qualifications

To succeed in this position, you need strong analytical skills and be a problem solver using data to create insight for decision making. It is important that you are self-driven with the ability to prioritize, while being conscientious in the work you undertake. You are an initiator who takes the lead in processes, you build good relationships, and you communicate well with your colleagues and stakeholders. As a person you are also curious and have an innovative mindset, with a desire and ability to dig into complex issues and use hypothesis testing in the process.

Good English skills are required, in writing as well as oral. Fortum's official working language is English.
