Role? Backend Developer join to the renewal of Tori.fi, the biggest marketplace in Finland, in its entirety. Designing and implementing the backend microservices, APIs, data storage solutions in a cloud environment (AWS) to serve our different platforms (Web, IOS, Android).
Requirements? Experience in one or more modern programming languages or mainstream languages and working with cloud based (preferably AWS) environments. Knowledge & understanding of relational databases. Curious & problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn & share your learnings to others.
Tech stack you will be working with: Go, Amazon Aurora, AWS, containers with orchestration. We also believe in modern software delivery practices: CI/CD, Pairing, Everything as Code, Microservices, Software craft, TDD.

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
As a member of the Tori modernisation squad, you are one of the key contributors to the renewal of our leading marketplace and have a direct impact on our 3+ million monthly users' Tori experience! As a part of the Modernisation team you will actively participate in the renewal of the whole Tori platform and our core components like our Search, Configuration, Listings Lifecycle etc. Your main focus is on delivering readable code and clear documentation while ensuring the quality of our services through diverse practices like efficient logging, unit testing with code coverage.
Designing and implementing backend microservices, APIs, data storage solutions in a cloud environment (AWS) to serve our different platforms (Web, iOS, Android) is on your desk too.
Furthermore, your expertise is needed in building further our development culture and our backend excellence by proposing relevant solutions to your squad and by supporting your squad mates to reach objectives.
Your first opportunity is to shine by working with a squad that develops and modernises the new Tori core services. The Q4 this year is all about the listings lifecycle and making sure that our modernised Motors site gets free from the legacy components. In the beginning of 2022, the fun part kicks off when we attack the Tori site and start supporting the creation of the new Tori site. Our pioneering goal is to completely renew the web experience and tooling with a modern tech stack and practices. How do we get there, it is up to you and the squad.
In the long term, we hope that you can continuously help us to improve our software delivery process towards Continuous Delivery and ensure relevant observability on our microservices (i.e. monitoring, metrics gathering etc.). You ensure the quality of our services through diverse practices like efficient logging, unit testing with code coverage.

You will be a valued member of our Modernisation team and your closest partners in crime are the squad team members: 1 Software Architect, 2 Project Managers, 1 Solution Architect, 5 Backend Developers and 2 QA Engineers.
Our team is spread across Finland and we are very flexible of the location of your headquarters (as long as it's in Finland/The Nordics or you have a plan to move to Finland). You have also a possibility to work at wonderful office premises right in the very heart of Helsinki.

WHO ARE YOU?
You have experience in one or more modern programming languages (e.g. Go, Kotlin, Scala, etc.) or mainstream languages (e.g. Java, Python, TypeScript).
University degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent degree. Usually studies give you a great & solid basis for theory and basics that are needed to succeed in this position.
Experience with Relational Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) or NoSQL Databases.
Experience with Cloud based (AWS) and Linux based environments.
Fluency in written & spoken English, as it is our company language.

Experience with ElasticSearch.
Familiarity with message-broker software.
Event-driven programming experience.
