Automation Engineer
Makron AutomationMakron Automation, which provides designing and manufacturing services, is looking for an Automation Engineer to join its growing team in Lahti or on the Espoo site!
As an Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Automation team, and your main responsibilities will be related to PLC design using Siemens and Omron as well as commissioning tasks. There are a large variety of automatization projects such as automation of the conveyor system and water filtration devices which enables seawater to turn into a usable form. You get to work with many kinds of industries in Finland and abroad, both on land and at sea. Typical customers are machine builders, warehouse dealers, marine industry suppliers and industrial plants such as surface treatment plants. Each project is planned according to the client’s needs and preferences which gives you a great possibility to widen your expertise in the fields of automation, electrics, and software. Projects typically last from days to weeks and ideally, you have only one bigger project going on at the time. Design work can be done at the office or hybrid model from wherever is best for you and the commissioning implementation part requires traveling to the customers’ sites.
To succeed in this position, we expect you to have a background in automation engineering. Besides this, you should have some basic electrical knowledge. You are going to work in close collaboration with different stakeholders, so we hope you have good communication skills as well as good problem-solving skills. Because projects take place at different places, such as shipyards, willingness to travel globally is required. As an Automation Engineer, you will have a wide variety of tasks and we hope you are always eager to learn new and develop your expertise. At times you also get to use your electrical installation technical skills in this role so we hope you have a hands-on attitude and the screwdriver stays in your hand as well.

We require you to have:

Suitable technical education (e.g. automation engineer or electrical engineer)

Previous experience in industrial automation design
-
Previous experience in PLC programming
-
Basic electrical know-how
-
Drivers license B and own car to use
-
Willingness to travel
-
Full working proficiency in English written and spoken
We consider as an asset:

Finnish language skills

Field working experience with automation and electric systems

Other programming skills such as WinCC Scada, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Codesys-based logic languages, InTouch, database skills, SQL and C#
