LUT School of Energy Systems is looking for a professor in energy and society.
The position is situated at the associate / full professor levels of the tenure track and it will be filled for a fixed term of four years (associate professor) or permanently (full professor).
The professorship is situated at the Department of Energy Technology. The department’s activities have traditionally focused on energy technologies and the economy of energy production, with deep understanding of the physical fundamentals of energy technologies and their applications in processes and equipment.
In the changing energy industry, research on conventional power and heat production processes based on fossil energy sources has decreased significantly. Instead, the emphasis is on low-carbon, energy efficient processes and equipment. As the energy transition gains speed, the needs of and constraints set by society become ever more important drivers for the research and teaching of the department. Therefore, the department wants to broaden its interface with the society at large.

The salary is determined according to the salary system for university teaching and research personnel. The pay will include an individual pay component based on performance and competence. The annual salary range of associate professors is approximately 48500–76200 euros (gross income including holiday bonus), and that of full professors is 67700–117500 euros depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
