We are now seeking an ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to the School of ARTS. In this position, you will work in the vibrant and inspiring community of students, researchers and experts at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. Your main responsibility is supporting and coaching the Departments of Art, Media and Film, Television and Scenography in financial administration - ensuring a solid base for conducting world-class research, art and creative practices.

Your goals

In this role, you will use your expertise in planning, problem solving and coordinating. You will work closely with the departments’ Controller in managing and developing the financial operations of these three departments. In addition, your tasks may include specific responsibilities such as financial administration of the study programs (purchase and sales invoices, monitoring, reporting and participation in budgeting) and collaboration projects with companies, communities, universities and public sector.

Your experience and ambitions

You have strong knowledge in accounting and financial administration and a broad understanding of the financial processes and tools. You have already gained 2-5 years of experience within financial administration and have a bachelor´s or master´s degree from a relevant field. You communicate fluently in Finnish and English.

You have a customer service oriented mindset and you are able to work independently and hands-on. You have strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills and you have the ability to see the big picture. Your approach to work is precise and responsible. You have the ability to handle challenging situations in a constructive and positive manner and you are used to handling deadlines. Aalto University follows the salary system of the Finnish universities. The monthly salary is between 2 915,20 € and 3187 €. The position is fixed-term and will be filled for two years. The starting date is as soon as possible, but negotiable.
