We are now looking for an Asset Manager to join BASF and their Harjavalta’s new battery chemical production site. The site is under construction now and will begin its operation soon, and you will be responsible for managing the site’s technical maintenance activities and overall asset management. The position is permanent, and the start date should be as soon as possible but latest at the beginning of 2021. We are a smoke-free workplace.
As an Asset Manager you are responsible for all aspects concerning occupational safety, safety reviews etc. on Your responsibility area. You will manage the overall site maintenance concept and process including maintenance related contracts and services and manage the maintenance and technical cost budget. You will be responsible for steering of investments and upgrade projects, including, capex projects and manage the maintenance and technical cost budget. As an Asset Manager you will also drive continuous improvement measures and lead selected activities, key function for site-wide operational excellence related to asset improvements. You are also responsible for Harjavalta site ICT and DCS systems availability and development.
In addition, as an Asset Manager you will also assume responsibility for overall management of KPI generation related to asset effectiveness system and reporting setup. Asset Manager is direct line manager for Mechanical Engineer, E&I Engineer and Project Engineer.
We expect you to have solid experience in handling production processes and methods in a production environment and being familiar with maintenance processes as well as inspection methods. You should also possess good negotiation, presentation, interpersonal skills as well as systematic error detection skills. Working knowledge of EHS and knowledge in power handling equipment, rotating equipment, technology and project management experience helps you to be successful in this role. Knowledge in base metal chemistry is a plus.
We also expect you to have a master’s level degree, major for engineering, preferably with a focus on process engineering and/or mechanical/chemical engineering. You are fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English. German is considered an advantage.

You will be a member of the site management team to lead the site development. You will take part in developing BASF’s site’s assets and maintenance and share your knowledge within their global organization which will also support you in your role as an Asset Manager. BASF will also help you to relocate near Harjavalta should you consider moving from elsewhere.
