Team Lead, Asset Accounting
to join our Global Financial Services (GFS) organisation in Neste headquarters in Espoo, Finland.
Global Financial Services organisation provides financial services globally at Neste. Financial transactions are processed, controlled and analysed centrally under GFS. We support end-to-end process development projects and initiatives by providing transaction's testing and process know-how services. We are working on a hybrid-remote office model basis.
In your role, you lead a global asset accounting team in the GFS organisation. Asset accounting team is responsible for timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual IFRS and statutory asset accounting reporting. We take care of financial transactions related to asset accounting as assets purchases, depreciations, disposals, assets under construction projects and both group and statutory reporting tasks. Moreover the team develops the ways of working and contributes to process automation and Neste wide assets and investment life cycle projects.
You are a member of the GFS Management Team and you report to the Head of Global Financial Services. In your position you will work closely with Global Financial Services' teams, group consolidation, regional finance manager, business finance, business representatives, ERP Center of Excellence and both internal and external auditors.
Your main responsibilities are
Leading the team according to Neste values with line manager responsibilities
Supporting and managing the team in daily operational work as subject-matter expert (SME), i.e. in prioritisation, problem solving and decision making
Developing processes towards automatization
Participating in IT projects related to asset accounting processes
Cooperating with internal and external stakeholders to improve end-to-end process performance
Supporting a strong team culture, wellbeing and diversity to achieve set targets

The best combination to success in this role
Previous experience in leading people as a line manager or leading virtual / project teams
Understanding of IFRS, especially IFRS 16, IAS asset accounting standards and GAAP accounting principles
Knowledge of SAP ERP, accounting and finance processes
Courage to drive change - question, develop and suggest improved ways of working and grow competency in a team
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, virtually and in person
Fluency in written and spoken English
Applicable education, e.g. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
We also value
Knowledge and experience from financial shared services’ processes
Experience and interest in end-to-end process automatization, e.g. RPA and AI
Development mindset
Experience in KPI process establishment
