Are you ready to lead and grow the business of a globally recognized company in Finland? Wanzl, a family-owned business now in its third generation, is looking for an experienced Country Manager to join our team and oversee our operations in Finland.

Wanzl Nordic, with over 350 skilled employees, operates across Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Latvia, offering local expertise and exceptional service to our clients. In Finland, Wanzl Nordic Oy has a turnover of 14.5 million euros and a dedicated team of 18 employees. Our local clients include large Finnish retail and food chains, lifestyle and fashion stores, airports, pharmaceutical companies, and more. Our office is located in Vantaa.
The Role
As the Country Manager, you will lead and grow the local business operations of Wanzl in Finland, including managing and implementing business strategies in alignment with the company's global vision and objectives. You will be responsible for managing the team, developing new opportunities, and ensuring a strong market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the team of our 18 professionals and grow our current local business of 14.5 million euros to the next level
Prepare and execute sales strategies to increase brand recognition and awareness
Manage budgets, P&L, and deliver on business targets and KPIs
Maintain strong relationships with customers, retailers, and suppliers
Review and evaluate competitors to identify areas for improvement and differentiation
Research and analyze market opportunities, potential customers, and business deals
Monitor pricing strategies and establish competitive pricing
Design and implement marketing plans
Create opportunities for business expansion and growth
Develop teams through recruitment, training, and motivation
Monitor progress of projects and manage all engineering, marketing, and business development initiatives
Collaborate with senior management and Nordic Function Heads on strategic initiatives and local projects
Participate in the Nordic Leadership Team and contribute to group-wide initiatives
Uphold positive work environment
Professional Skills and Competencies
BSc/MSc degree in business administration, international business, management, or a related field (preferably a master’s degree)
Postgraduate degree in sales, finance, or similar is also acceptable
Strong familiarity with market conditions and business practices in Finland (former experience on working with Finnish retail and food chains is considered as an advantage)
Financial acumen to oversee the company's financial performance and growth
Excellent proficiency in English and Finnish
Proven experience as a country manager, sales director or similar role
Proficient in strategic planning and implementation of effective business strategies

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Strong sales and problem-solving skills
